Summary
v2.5.1 was a July 2026 hotfix after v2.5.0. The live public branch is now v2.7.0 (Egypt map + random-map toggles). This page documents the v2.5.1 anti-cheat and Osaka bounds fixes.
Confirm the build string on the title screen matches your lobby. Official wording: Steam news hub.
What changed
1. Anti-cheat — excess recommendations
Players could abuse systems that grant an excessive number of recommendations. v2.5.1 adds server-side countermeasures so lobbies stay fairer and scoreboards are less polluted.
2. Anti-cheat — rapid-fire
Rapid-fire cheats (actions firing faster than intended input) are blocked. Legitimate paint / tag cadence should feel the same; only exploit pacing is targeted.
3. Osaka — out of bounds
Fixed cases where players could leave the playable Osaka area. Community OOB routing from early v2.5.0 sessions needs a retest.
What did not change
| Topic | Still on |
|---|---|
| Osaka layout / paint brush / experimental controller palette | v2.5.0 |
| Reverse Chicken Race mode | v2.4.0 + Game Modes |
| Clone decoy utility | Clone System |
| Collaboration star map teaser | Still pending official ship — see Steam news |
Player checklist after updating
- Restart Steam and confirm v2.5.1 on the main menu.
- Host a new lobby (do not reuse old rooms across versions).
- If friends cannot join: Invite Not Working or Version Mismatch.
- Playing Osaka? Retest corners and vertical routes after the bounds fix.
