About MecchaGuide
MecchaGuide (mecchaguide.com) is an independent, fan-run problem-solving hub for Meccha Chameleon on Steam (App ID 4704690). We publish troubleshooting guides, map strategy notes, Workshop compatibility checks, interactive player tools, and patch-note analysis so multiplayer lobbies spend less time stuck on errors and more time playing.
We are not the official game site
MecchaGuide is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Meccha Chameleon developer (lemorion_1224) or Steam / Valve. Game names, artwork references, and patch details belong to their respective owners. When we link to the Steam store page or official news, those are third-party destinations.
We use the phrase “unofficial player hub” on purpose: our job is player support and strategy documentation, not representing the studio. If you need official support, use Steam discussions or the developer’s published channels.
What this site is for
- Fixes: invite failures, auth/EOS errors, black screens, crashes, voice chat, and network NAT issues — written as ordered steps players can follow.
- Play guides: painting, poses, seeker sweep methods, official and Workshop map spot notes.
- Tools: Seeker Checklist, Route Planner, Map Compare, Paint Matcher, and the Spot the Chameleon vision quiz.
- Version tracking: patch-note summaries annotated with what changed for lobby hosts and competitive customs.
How we verify content
Guides show a Last verified badge tied to a live public game build (currently v3.5.1). When we re-test a fix or map route after a patch, we bump that badge. Confidence labels on map spots (Verified / Community Favorite / Needs Retest) are editorial judgments from playtests and reader reports — not studio data.
We prefer primary evidence: reproducing the bug on a clean Steam install, checking GPU control-panel overrides, comparing Workshop map IDs against Steam, and noting when a step only works on Windows, Steam Deck, or CrossOver/Mac. Where we cannot reproduce a rare issue, we say so instead of inventing certainty.
Editorial standards
- No scraped mirror of Steam news — patch pages add impact notes for hiders, seekers, and hosts.
- Affiliate links (VPN / performance tools) are labeled; they never replace a free fix that works first.
- Workshop map pages include compatibility caveats when a map is heavy on handhelds.
- Corrections welcome — see Contact.
Who writes MecchaGuide?
Content is published by MecchaGuide Editorial — independent players who host lobbies, maintain Workshop rotations, and document the fixes that repeatedly show up in Discord and Steam threads. We do not claim to be esports analysts or studio partners — we claim to ship practical pages that get a stuck lobby unstuck. Contact the editors via Contact.
